Actorsvision is proud to welcome Ita O’Brien, the renound intimacy coordinator, to a one day online workshop. Ita has worked with Netflix on ‘Sex Education’, HBO on ‘May I Destroy You’, BBC on ‘Normal People’ and more. She is also the founder of ‘Intimacy on Set’, a company that deals with similar work with dramas or film/TV.
Introduction to intimacy as part of an actors training can be an difficult and unclear path, therefore a role like Ita O’Brien’s allowsactors and crew to feel more comfortable in the process. Ita oversees the intimacy coordination,liasing betwenn the directors vision and the actors comfort and boundaries, from the auditions to the rehearsals and finally to the shoot. As a seizmic change is ushering into the industry, empowered by various movements such as ‘Time's Up’, safer and more dignified sets are a necessity.
The Intimacy Coordination Workshop will take place on the 19th of June, from 11am to 4.30pm. We welcome anyone from beginners to experts, however you must be over 18. Ita will explore the ethics, insights, protocols (including Covid-19 guidelines), industry and much more to do with the subject of intimacy. The workshop will end with a Q&A, and the fee is €180.
