Terms & Conditions
By booking, accepting a place on, or participating in an ActorsVision course, programme, workshop, masterclass or private lesson, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
01. BOOKINGS & PAYMENT
Places are offered subject to availability and, except where otherwise stated, are secured only when the required deposit or full course fee has been received by ActorsVision.
The applicable deposit and course fee are those stated on the relevant course, programme or booking page at the time of booking.
Unless otherwise stated, any outstanding balance is due on or before the first scheduled class, meeting or session.
Where entry to a programme is by application, audition or invitation, payment of a deposit does not secure a place unless an offer has first been made by ActorsVision.
02. TRANSFERS
Bookings are non-transferable from one course or programme to another unless permission is expressly granted by ActorsVision.
Where a transfer is permitted, the transferred booking will be treated as the participant's confirmed booking. No further transfer or refund will be available where the participant subsequently cancels or withdraws, except where otherwise agreed by ActorsVision in writing.
03. DEPOSITS, CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
All course deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable, except where ActorsVision agrees otherwise or where required by law.
For standard courses, where the full course fee has been paid in advance, a request to cancel must be made in writing by email. Where a cancellation is accepted more than 72 hours before the course begins, ActorsVision may refund fees paid less the applicable non-refundable deposit and any non-recoverable payment processing or transaction charges.
No refund will be available within 72 hours of the commencement of a standard course, after the course has commenced, or where preparatory course material or work has already been supplied.
No refunds are available for one-day workshops or masterclasses unless otherwise stated by ActorsVision.
Where a participant withdraws from a course after it has commenced, any outstanding course balance remains payable in full. Non-attendance does not constitute cancellation and does not remove the participant's obligation to pay any fees due.
04. ACTORS STUDIO & CREATORS STUDIO – ANNUAL PROGRAMME COMMITMENT
Actors Studio and Creators Studio are selective, limited-capacity annual programmes for which places are offered following an application and/or audition process and may be reserved for successful applicants for a substantial period before the programmes commence.
An offer of a place is accepted and the participant's place is secured when the required deposit is paid and any required acceptance documentation is completed.
By accepting and securing a place, the participant commits to the full annual programme and accepts responsibility for payment of the full programme fee stated in their offer and/or on the relevant programme page.
The deposit forms part of the full programme fee and is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Once a place has been accepted and secured, withdrawal by the participant before or after commencement does not cancel the participant's liability for the remaining programme fee. Any unpaid balance will remain due in accordance with the payment schedule provided by ActorsVision.
This reflects the limited and selective nature of the annual Studio programmes. Once a place has been accepted, ActorsVision reserves that place for the participant, plans the programme and group around the confirmed cohort, and may decline or release other applicants on the basis that the place has been filled.
ActorsVision may, at its discretion, consider genuinely exceptional circumstances affecting a participant's ability to commence or continue the programme. Any waiver, reduction, payment arrangement or release from fees must be expressly agreed by ActorsVision in writing and does not create an entitlement or precedent for other participants.
05. PUNCTUALITY
Participants agree to arrive on time for all scheduled classes, meetings, rehearsals, workshops, shoots and other sessions.
Late arrival may disrupt work already in progress. ActorsVision therefore reserves the right to refuse entry to a participant who arrives late. Where entry is refused, the missed session will be treated as an absence.
06. ATTENDANCE & CATCH-UPS
Regular attendance is an essential part of ActorsVision training and programmes.
Where certification is offered, 100% attendance is required unless missed sessions have been sanctioned by ActorsVision or subsequently completed through an approved catch-up arrangement.
Planned absences should be discussed with ActorsVision in advance wherever possible. In the case of an unexpected emergency, ActorsVision should be informed as soon as reasonably practicable.
Where available, ActorsVision may offer a private catch-up system through which missed course material can be completed. Catch-ups are subject to availability and any applicable catch-up fee.
Failure to meet the attendance requirements may result in a participant not receiving certification and may also affect eligibility to participate in associated productions, shoots, performances or other course opportunities.
07. MULTI-TERM & ANNUAL PROGRAMMES
Where a course or programme operates across more than one term, the terms form part of a single continuous course or programme unless ActorsVision expressly states otherwise.
All terms must therefore be taken consecutively in order to complete the course or programme.
For annual programmes, including Actors Studio and Creators Studio, enrolment is for the programme as a whole and not separately for individual terms. A participant may not withdraw between terms or elect to attend individual terms as separate courses unless expressly agreed by ActorsVision.
08. FIRST SESSION OF A COURSE OR TERM
Attendance at the first scheduled class, meeting or session of a course or term is particularly important, as this session establishes the foundation for the work that follows.
Participants who know that they will be unable to attend the first session must contact ActorsVision in advance and obtain agreement for the absence.
Failure to attend the first session without prior agreement or without genuinely exceptional circumstances may result in the participant being removed from the course or term without refund.
Where an absence has been approved in advance, or where ActorsVision accepts that exceptional circumstances prevented attendance, reasonable arrangements will be discussed where possible. ActorsVision cannot guarantee that missed introductory work can always be repeated or rescheduled.
09. PRODUCTIONS, PERFORMANCES & MATERIAL
Opportunities to participate in headshots, showreel scenes, filmed material, theatrical performances, productions or other practical work offered as part of an ActorsVision course or programme are subject to satisfactory attendance, preparation, participation and professional conduct.
ActorsVision reserves the right to withdraw or modify such opportunities where a participant has fallen behind in attendance, preparation or required work.
Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, copyright in photographic, video and audio material produced by or commissioned by ActorsVision remains with ActorsVision. Participants may be granted permission to use appropriate material for personal professional purposes such as showreels, portfolios and promotion, subject to any restrictions communicated by ActorsVision.
10. SHOOTS, REHEARSALS & PERFORMANCE DATES
Participants who miss an allocated shooting, rehearsal or performance date are not automatically entitled to a replacement or rescheduled date.
Where a participant's preparation or performance has been materially affected by absence, missed rehearsals, failure to prepare or failure to meet the requirements of the project, ActorsVision may modify or cancel that participant's involvement in a shoot, production or performance.
Production and performance work is collaborative. Participants are therefore expected to honour agreed rehearsal, shooting and performance commitments and to communicate any genuine difficulty as early as possible.
11. MOBILE PHONES & ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Mobile phones and other electronic devices must be switched off or placed on silent before classes, meetings, rehearsals and other sessions begin, unless their use has been authorised as part of the work.
Participants whose devices repeatedly disrupt a session may be asked to leave and may not be permitted to return until the following session.
12. CONDUCT & PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
Participants agree to treat fellow participants, teachers, directors, visiting professionals, staff and others working with ActorsVision with respect, courtesy and professionalism.
Threatening, abusive, discriminatory, harassing, seriously disruptive or otherwise inappropriate behaviour will not be accepted.
ActorsVision reserves the right to take appropriate action where conduct materially affects the safety, wellbeing or ability of others to participate in the work. This may include a warning, temporary suspension or, in serious circumstances, termination of the participant's involvement with ActorsVision.
Where participation is terminated because of serious misconduct, fees already paid will not normally be refundable and any outstanding fees otherwise due under these Terms & Conditions may remain payable.
13. PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons are normally booked in blocks of five, unless otherwise agreed.
Dates and times will be allocated or agreed in advance. Once confirmed, appointments may only be changed with the agreement of ActorsVision.
A cancellation or failure to attend a confirmed private lesson does not automatically entitle the participant to a refund, credit or replacement lesson.
ActorsVision may permit a reschedule where sufficient notice has been provided or where exceptional circumstances apply.
14. CHANGES, CANCELLATION & EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES
ActorsVision will make reasonable efforts to deliver courses, programmes, workshops, rehearsals and productions as advertised. However, schedules, tutors, directors, venues, production dates, delivery methods or other arrangements may occasionally need to change because of circumstances outside ActorsVision's reasonable control or because a change is reasonably necessary for the safe or effective delivery of the work.
Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to, illness or unavailability of teaching or creative personnel, venue problems, severe weather, public health measures, transport disruption, utility or technology failures, emergencies, safety concerns, government restrictions or other events that could not reasonably have been anticipated or avoided.
Where reasonably practicable, ActorsVision may respond by rescheduling a session, changing a tutor or venue, adjusting the timetable, providing an alternative session, moving work online, or making another reasonable alteration to the programme.
Where ActorsVision cancels an entire course or programme before it begins and does not provide a reasonable alternative, participants will be offered a refund of fees paid for that cancelled course or programme, or may choose to transfer those fees to another ActorsVision course where appropriate.
Where an individual participant experiences genuinely exceptional circumstances, ActorsVision may consider reasonable alternative arrangements on a case-by-case basis. Any accommodation, waiver, refund, credit or variation offered in exceptional circumstances is discretionary unless otherwise required by law and does not create an automatic entitlement or precedent.
