LIGHT STAR THEATRE COMPANY PRESENT ENDA WALSH’S THE NEW ELECTRIC BALLROOM

at FIRKIN CRANE THEATRE, SHANDON, CORK

The play featuring ActorsVision students, Deirdre O'Connell & John Flynn wil run for two night's on the 2nd/3rd July 2015 at 8pm nightly.

‘Staring back behind the blusher and the eyeshadow a girl who’s yet to be kissed. Properly kissed.’

Sisters Breda, Clara, and Ada are trapped within their memories of the New Electric Ballroom. It was the time of their lives…… or was it?

In a dark and isolated Irish fishing village three sisters are haunted by days past when anything was possible. Together they share tightly gripping family bonds, heavy sitting memories and a hopeful glimmer of escape. Enter Patsy, a lonely gossip and fishmonger who is searching desperately for a higher purpose beyond delivering seafood…….

The New Electric Ballroom received its English-language premiere, in 2008, by Druid at the Galway Arts Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Tickets €12 (Booking fees may apply).

'Light Star Theatre Company' was set up, in 2014, by Carol O'Donovan. The aim of the company is to make creative magic with likeminded souls. Carol was trained by Stella Majewsky. She recently directed 'Blue Stockings' and ‘Look Back in Anger’ at the Firkin Crane, Cork.'
