LOOK BACK IN ANGER at THE FIRKIN CRANE THEATRE

LIGHT STAR THEATRE COMPANY PRESENT JOHN OSBORNE’S LOOK BACK IN ANGER at FIRKIN CRANE, SHANDON, CORK 13/14/15 NOVEMBER 2014 at 8pm nightly

Starring Kristina Decker, Martin Galligan, Rob Moran & Richard O'Halloran Look Back in Anger was first performed on May 8, 1956 at the Royal Court Theatre. The play galvanized audiences and spoke for a young generation frustrated with stagnant life in post war England. In the play, Jimmy Porter, a bright, educated working-class young man is railing incessantly against the status quo and the vestiges of the social strata of the Edwardian ethic. Jimmy thinks he's the only one who sees through the suffocating illusions of bourgeois life and excuses his verbal cruelties as attempts to goad others to wake up to life. When his long-suffering, upper-middle-class wife, Alison, has had her fill of his diatribes, things explode in every direction. The teetering couple, flanked by his best buddy and her best friend, realize that amidst the despair and anger, they have one last thing that may save their souls. Tickets €11 + €1 restoration levy. Handling fees may apply. 'Light Star Theatre Company' was set up, in 2014, by Carol O'Donovan. The aim of the company is to make creative magic with likeminded souls. Carol O'Donovan was trained, in the Cork Gaiety School of Acting, by Stella Majewsky, and recently directed 'Blue Stockings' at the Firkin Crane in August 2014.'
