THE CRUCIBLE at The Everyman

Updated: Jul 20, 2021

UPDATE: Show postponed until 2022 due to covid restrictions

This March, Bolt Studios will be bringing Arthur Miller’s thrilling play ‘The Crucible’ to life at the ‘Everman Theatre’ in Cork. Written in 1953, during the mistrustful era of McCarthyism, ‘The Crucible’ tells a partially fictionalized story of the Salem witch trials of 1692-93. When a group of women are found dancing and screaming around a bonfire one night, rumours of witchcraft spread throughout the town. Fueled by lust, personal hatred and betrayel, the rumours grow out of control.

The play holds an interesting place in the history of literature, as Miller was questioned by the House of Representatives three years after it’s release. Despite its controversial themes, the play won many awards, including the ‘Tony Award for Best Play,’ and has since become a classic.

Many Actorsvision graduates will be starring, including Millie Ahern, Owen Warren, Matthew Real, Daniel Fitzgibbon, Fiona Sykes, and many more. Directed and produced by Darren Kelleher, the show will take place on the 18th and 19th of March 2020. Tickets on sale now!
